Hanna McCarthy took up the violin aged 8, later trading it in to learn saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano.

As a music student in Liverpool she played regularly with wind ensembles, musical shows, the symphony orchestra and with jazz duo the 'Bossa Birds' She is looking forward to performing 'Yellow Submarine' at the Royal Albert hall later this year.

Hanna once appeared in a BBC drama with Isaac Hayes and Antonio Fargas (aka 'Huggy Bear'). Isaac borrowed her saxophone.
